A young man is murdered in the middle of the street in a popular Montreal district, during a seemingly ordinary quarrel.

A filmmaker on the look-out for a good subject for a film is interested in the crime. He meets and interviews the people closest to the victim, a group of young hoodlums. Moved by the reality of what he discovers but unable to record it on film, he urges them to stage a play based on their story.

Getting “a bunch of bums” involved in a creative piece is not an easy task. For Michelle, Maryse, Danielle, Dolores, Alain, Jacques, La Piquette and Jérome, violence, alcohol and drugs are a way of life. Through the creative act, they reveal the wretchedness of their world.

Love-moi is important because it forces the audience to truly listen to the point of view of those we often try to push back into youth courts, rehabilitation centers or prisons.
